Varicose veins
Varicose veins are enlarged, often are dark blue and are located near the surface of the skin. They often are a symptom of a condition called venous insufficiency. They do not occur at once and it takes years for the symptoms to appear. Anyone can develop them even without a genetic history. Untreated, varicose veins can lead to swelling, pain, skin discoloration and venous leg ulcer.
